NEWBORNS
Ideally, you’ll schedule your first session about 3-4 months before baby is born. But life happens, and baby is gonna arrive on his or her own timeline! For that reason I only book a limited number of newborn sessions per month, so that I can offer flexibility (and peace of mind) to my clients.
We recommend your newborn session take place 5-21 days after baby is born. During those early days newborns are the sleepiest and most flexible, so they’re easier to pose and less likely to startle. But if you’re past 21 days, no worries! We can still take adorable photos.
Newborn sessions last about 3-4 hours. There’s time spent taking photos, changing outfits, and posing – but there’s also ample time for rest. These sessions give us the flexibility to work at baby’s pace. Diaper changes, feeding, and snuggle time are part of the process. (And rest and refreshments for parents are too!)
MILESTONES
I’m happy to make suggestions, but the beauty of milestone photography is that you can choose the moments that make your heart sing. That might be tummy time, crawling, first teeth, or a cake smash! But many parents like the predictability of working on a schedule of 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and one year. Let’s smash that cake!
Since baby’s development is so rapid during the first year, they are most popular for infants. But I work with many of my clients beyond the first year and love to watch your babies grow into toddlers and beyond!
LIFESTYLE
Lifestyle photography is a documentary style of portraiture, which allows me to capture your family in genuine, candid moments of interaction. We can definitely do more traditional posed photos, but the magic is in the moments when my clients are looking at each other and not at the camera!
All lifestyle photo sessions take place outdoors. I have a list of time-tested locations that offer the best lighting and backdrop – but will always consider requests for other locations.
I suggest keeping lifestyle photo sessions small and intimate, but will consider requests for larger groups. Additional fees may apply. The smaller the group, the easier it is to capture the little moments that make for the most special photos!
GENERAL
Blush Baby Photo can travel within 60 miles of our Sherborn, MA studio for outdoor family sessions – but all newborn and milestone sessions must take place in our studio. Our studio has all of the equipment and props we need for a phenomenal result, and there’s too much to take on the road.
Budgetary considerations at times lead to requests for unedited photos – but trust us when we say that the behind-the-scenes editing is essential to create the breathtaking photos you’re looking for! We don’t deliver products to our clients that are anything less than our best work. For that reason, we do not sell raw unedited image files.
